Textiles are a fundamental source of greenhouse gas emissions. In order to build sustainability in the textile industry, efforts are made to increase the recycling of fibres, textiles and waste materials.
The circular fashion and textile economy seek to reduce waste to a minimum and keep the materials within the consumption and production loop as long as possible.
Design Floe is currently working with cupro, a regenerated cellulose fibre made from cotton waste. Cuprois assoft as silk, cooler than linen and more absorbent than cotton meaning this fabric is extremely comfortable, breathable and smooth. Although Kelly's collections embody luxurious silks and velvets, she is constantly seeking more sustainable alternatives.
